I don't usually blog and I certainly don't mobile blog very often but this is a special occasion. :) So its a long story some people in my life joke with me that im going to marry someone named Jared/Jarred and most of them are convinced im at least going to marry someone who's name at least starts with a J. Well today I went to the Christian book store with Ashley and I was looking at the name card thingys...you know with the meaning on it; because my beautiful Mama Colleena and I were talking about them on Friday. Anyways the are all in alphabetical order except 2. They were in a semi-empty row and right next to each other. Guess what they were...
VERY FUNNY... Liz you were there not too long ago did you set that up or call lol!!

Red Envelope!!!!!!!!
This is major. If enough people come together and do this, it would bring maaaaaajor awareness to politicians about our stance against abortion. Please please PLEASE check this out. And if you feel so led (and I strongly hope you do) send a red envelope to President Obama, and share this with everyone you know in any form you know how. Liz and I did!!! =)

Here is a way to let our new president hear our pro-life voices. It's a simple concept: just buy (or make out of construction paper) a red envelope, seal it up (yes, empty), address it to the president, and add this note on the back of the envelope: "This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception."
You may wonder, "What good will this do?" No one but God can answer that, but the campaign reminds me of the "launcher" tactic used by William Wilberforce and others as they fought against slavery in the British Empire. It's a simple, peaceful way of drawing attention to an evil that needs to be changed. President Obama, as Chuck Colson noted in this BreakPoint commentary, is confused on this issue: he rightly believes that God does not support taking innocent life, yet he is staunchly pro-abortion.
Here's the address:

25 random things you might not know about me. =)
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose at least 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you.
Well, i've been tagged a number of times, and I am finally giving in.
So, here I go...
1.My first name is French, my middle name is Irish, and my last name is Mexican.
2.I am more than ½ Mexican and Indian combined, but I have no color…. And I sunburn really bad…really easy!
3.My hair is naturally curly, and I usually hate that.
4.I’m not an open person and I don’t really know why. I also have a big problem confronting and saying no.
5.I love salty snacks more than sweet and I fall in and out of love with Cheez-its.
6.I play the flute, and used to play the Base Clarinet and I used to be in ColorGuard.
7.I was born two almost 3 month early they had to make sure my lungs were fully developed before they let my mom give birth to me.
8.I went to Russia this past summer and I miss it tons and hope to go back there someday.
9.I don’t like Burger King but I love their chicken fries, but they taste better when I eat them with my roomie. Lol!
10.I like to write poetry and stuff. But I don’t really like to blog, I have a lot of ideas for blog, but rarely do them; that drives my roomie insane.
11.My best friend/sister in the whole wide world is NICOLE MICHELLE EDNEY! I love her, my “bro in-law” and niece/ God Daughter.
12.When I need to tell people important things I write them out better than trying to say them.
13.I work at the CBU Counseling Center (it will be 2 Years on the 7th) and I love it. I love all the people I work with. Ask me who my favorite is…I don’t have one I have 36 (That’s including some that left us).
14.I am double majoring, I am taking 20 units this semester, and I think I am going to do a dual masters…I know I am crazy. (Dr. Lewis and Dr. Stokes are my fav. professor.).
15.I’m a “touchy feely” person, but for some reason I don’t like to cuddle (sorry Liz). Part of my “touch feelyness” (I like making up words) is that I love hugging people, but its awkward when people that know that, tell people that don’t know me, and they want a hug.
16.I really do have the “gift” of empathy…it sucks sometimes.
17.I talk in my sleep, usually when I am tired.
18.I have had lots of dreams come true…not in life, the kind you have when you sleep.
19.I LOVE LOVE LOVE kids, and I cant wait to have my own. I once raised preemie twins for 4 months…actually a pretty sad story.
20.I love Tweety Bird and Mickey Mouse…I hate Mini.
21.I want to write a bucket list.
22.I am allergic to citrusy things or things with lots of acid and I’m also allergic codeine.
23.People like my cell message and most of them start talking to it because they think I answered.
24.I finally have a mentor…and she is absolutely amazing!!! =)
25.I absolutely LOVE CBU and I can’t imagine being anywhere else. This year is the best year ever, even though academically and time wise it sucks. It has to be the best otherwise I might/ might have dropped out.

Well, theres more about me than you ever probably wanted to know. If not...ask away and maybe I will answer.

13 Things I Learned/Came to Terms with On My Most Recent 439.73 Mile Drive
1.The grass really is greener on the other side.
So I am about 3 hours into my drive and look to the vast nothingness on my right and I see something. What? A massive line of cows walking on a path leading away from a field of not so green grass. Where are they going? Well, I drive for a few more miles and I notice a bunch of cows eating from a field of lush green grass, and what do you know the line of cows are not to far behind. I slow down a bit just to see what happens next. The line of cows stops smack in the middle of this lush green field and start eating.
2.Cows have leaders too.
So as you know many groups of animals have leaders. Well, did you know cows do too? I didn't. Well, expounding on the story in number 1 there was one cow in the front of the massive line leading the way. Every time he/she stopped they all stopped and when he/she MOOved they all MOOved. I wonder if he/she would have jumped of a bridge if they all would have. Lol!
3.No one, or at least yours truly, grows immune to the horrible smell of cow farms.
So I’m gonna stick with the cow topic for a minuet. I have driven this same drive at least 19 times since coming to CBU, each time surviving the smell of the many cow farms, even the “1 Million Cow Farm.” (Which really has 1 Million cows ask my roomies cousin). You would think that after smelling that at least 19 times I would be immune to it, or at least not so impacted by it. But if you did think that, you would be wrong. Every time I drive by the farms I still feel as though someone punched me in the nose with something retched. (It even smells worse then my coined phrase “…smells worse than a porter potty at the end of an all day fair in 100 degree weather”). If you have not yet smelled this smell, trust me you don’t want to; it is “pillow worthy”! (If you wanna know what that’s all about, you will have to ask).
4.The lyrics to Chris Tomlin’s The Way I Was Made come alive “dance like no one's around…sing like nobody's listening”
When I am in a car for as long as I am I get a little crazy. I ‘dance’ (Shh I'm Baptist), and ‘sing’ like a crazy woman. I am pretty sure that people in the cars next to me think that I am absolutely insane, and every time they see the “Report Drunk Drivers Call 911” sign they are tempted to call about me. But, guess what…I don’t care. I don’t know these people and I will probably never see them again. And who cares if I do, I have every right to act the way I do being locked in a car for 8+ hours with myself. Lol!
5.Human Interaction is all it is craked up to be.
Going along with number 4, I must admit I not only sing and dance…I talk to myself out loud. Yep! Not much more to say about that. Don’t be alarmed, once again I do have every right to do so and you should only be alarmed when I say that I talk to others…who are not really there. If you know what I mean. Lol
6.It is possible to think about absolutely nothing.
Have you ever tried to think about nothing? You know let your mind go completely blank? I’ve tried, usually when I am thinking about something I don’t want to. Well, I always thought it was impossible, well it not. I think its only when you are trying to do it that it doesn’t work. After driving for long period of time, much of which I spend thinking about a lot, I eventually stop thinking, usually right before I start to drift away and almost fall asleep.
7.The number hours of sleep you get, doesn’t always matter.
I rarely get ‘enough’ sleep, but I do always try to make it a priority to get as much sleep as I can before my long drive. Well, I’ve decided that it doesn’t really matter. Honestly! I’ve drive after 8, and I’ve driven after far less and I still almost fall asleep every time. The drive is just so boring and I can only talk to so many people (on the phone don’t worry-reference to number 5), and so many CD’s I can listen to.
8.Multitasking skills are stunted when driving, falling asleep, and speed are synonymous.
I am usually a pretty good multitasker, but when it comes to falling asleep and driving a fail. Once I start to go into sleepy mode I can no longer pay attention to the speed limit. I don’t usually speed, but in this case I do…bad. When I catch myself speeding I know its time to take precautions to stay awake.
9.Snacking can be really good for you.
Snacking on anything and everything is one thing that keeps me awake. I don’t know if it’s the energy I get from the food itself or the concentration and alertness it takes to eat it.
10.It takes me about 25 miles to eat a candy cane.
What, you might be thinking. Well, I’ve come to discover that suckers/lollipops are a great at keeping me awake. Well, I didn’t have any this trip, so I decided to try a candy cane instead. It worked and I just happened to look at the miles right before and after I ate it.
11.Miles left to travel is equal to a gift and/or death.
I always try not to look at how many miles I have left until I reach my destination, because it is usually really discouraging. But it is soooo hard not to look. Its like waiting to open a long awaited gift or for a death sentence. (I guess depending on where you are going... Or how long even because I know I can be excited about where I’m going but if the drive is really long and feels slow, its still waiting for death).
12.Arriving at the ½ way point leaves me rejuvenated and with the feeling of accomplishment.
I only stop once during my drive (if I can), because I want to get where I’m going asap. Since I only stop once I try to do it when I am ½ way done. Partly because that’s when I need to get gas, and I am ready to eat and go to the bathroom. But always because it’s a goal I know I can reach and when I do I feel so accomplished and rejuvenated.
And last, but certainly not least:
13.The sound of the wind coming through an open window on a freeway is my equivalent to the famous “fingernails on a chalkboard” not to mention it is painful.
The noise I speak of has bothered me since I was really little, but it was because I had really sensitive ears and the wind hurt. Well now I get so annoyed when I hear it. I guess you can say it is one of my pet peeves.
I learned/ came to terms with a lot more, but I am pretty sure this is enough for 1 blog. lol!

I feel the need to blog about 2 unrelated things…
so I am!
1. 1. I’ve always loved to cook and bake, but for some reason this year I have done it A LOT more than usual. I’ve been having fun looking up recipes and trying them out. Here are a few things I have baked for Christmas.
Rice Crispy Christmas tree

Baking makes me happy, but giving them away makes me even happier

Rice Crispy gifts

Stained Glass Christmas cookie- very yummy, but very difficult and time consuming

and my favorite...Reindeer cookies and Reindeer droppings

2. I am so Thankful this Christmas. In worldly eyes it may not seem like I have much, but in reality I have EVERYTHING I need. I am so Thankful for God, my life, family, friends, church, school (yes that’s right), job, the material things that I have…and so much more. I reflect on this tonight because of my trip to McDonalds. May sound funny, but you will understand after I explain.
Tonight my mom asked me to go get her a cheeseburger meal. When I got there I seen this girl (not much older than me), she’s a familiar face. Every time I come home I see her roaming the street and sometimes asking for food. I don’t know her story, why she lives the way she does, but I felt for her. As I looked at her standing in the rain waiting for the cars to pass so she could ask the workers for food, my heart sank. She is without food or someplace warm on Christmas Eve (tear). At this point I had already paid for me food at the first window, and I was supposed to drive up and get it, but I got the workers attention and asked them to add a double cheeseburger to my order. I noticed that she was walking away so I rolled down my widow and called out to her “excuse me,” she turns around, “would you like something to eat”, she answers “yes please”, so I told her to hold on a minuet and I will give her something. After I get the food I call her over to my car and hand her the cheeseburger. She shyly (is that a word) says thank you and I say “You are very welcome…Merry Christmas!” She walks away and then before she gets too far, she turns to me we make eye contact and she gives me a friendly nod with a slight grin. My heart sank again; I wanted to do so much more, but I didn’t know what to do. So I just prayed for her. Well I shouldn’t say just that is the best thing I could do for her.
So anyway the point of this story is not to tell you what I did, but to tell you to praise God with a thankful heart this Christmas for ALL that you have. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Thanks for reading.

Its a sad... sad... day
Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment
community.
The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection
and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a
man who never knew how much he was kneaded.
Doughboy rose quickly in
show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half- baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
~*~ If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who may be having a 'crumby' day and 'kneads' a lift. ~*~
